|Bernard Grossfeld served for 26 years in the Hebrew Studies Department at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, also as chairman. He is currently Adjunct Professor of Hebrew and Rabbinics at Spertus College of Judaica in Chicago. He received his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University, his M.A. and B.A. from the University of California, in Near Eastern Studies and Languages. He is recognized as one of the world's leading scholars in Aramaic and the Targum, and is the author of numerous leading works in these areas, including the Targum Onqelos to the Pentateuch, Targum Neofiti 1 to Genesis, the Two Targums of Esther, and a bibliography of Targum Literature, in three volumes, to name only a few. As the recipient of the prestigious Eli Elias Award at UCLA, he has participated in symposiums around the world.
This current work deals with one of Biblical Hebrew's most unique feature, the pronominally suffixed verb. In a work that is highly readable and helpful, the multiple arrangements of the materials provide new insights for students and scholars alike in an area of the language which most textbooks hardly touch.
